Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate use.

Eye Wash

Each year there are close to one million eye injuries in the workplace.  Even with the proper use of safety glasses, goggles and face shields, the risk of an accident is decreased but still present.   The first 10 to 15 seconds after chemical exposure are critical.  Emergency showers and eyewash units can provide immediate decontamination, helping to prevent more serious injuries.
